The new loom turns up and away we go

OK had a bit of a mission today.
While removing the heater controls, I found some wires looked burnt on the Fog light control… Traced it all the way though the loom and back down to the connector! About half way though the back of the dash the wires where melted together and stripped of the plastic. So with my bro in laws help I have removed the dash and the offending loom and ordered another one from Keron.
Keron told me he has seen this before when the fog light wires are put in the wrong way round. From the look of it its a very old injury probably pre my ownership. But just goes to show you dont know what lerks behind stuff.

Well as I could not find a boost leak I turned my attention to the vsv’s and found the iavc to be faulty. Although the resistance was with in tolerance when powered it did not open so I have put it in ttc mode, fitted a boost gauge and will give it a test drive once Russ taxes it on 1 July and see how it boosts up.

Well just been for a small 20 mile road test and pleased to report all seem good think there is still a boost leak so will have a check in the morning
Been back out on it today and made a pressure system to see if there was a boost leak but could not find one so all is good. I stripped all the pipes off and tested them and cleaned them inside as were oily and had rubbish in them, I also replaced a few missing bolts here and there and gave the under side a quick degrease
